Daily health screening form must be completed for all in-person students every day until further notice.
How do I complete the daily screening?  (use one of the following)

  • Log on to OnCourse from your home computer or laptop (If your child is not exhibiting any of the symptoms and hasn't had exposure, simply click on the third checkbox.)  
  • HVRSD App - Download the HVRSD App on your phone (available for Apple or Google)

All students must follow district temperature screening protocols prior to entering schools
 
DO NOT come to school if you answer YES to any of the following questions:

  • Are you experiencing COVID related symptoms?  
  • Have you had close contact with someone who is currently sick?
  • Have you or someone in your house been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past three weeks or have reason to believe that you/they have COVID-19?

 
The district mandates a 14-day self quarantine for any student or staff member who travels to or returns to New Jersey from a state(s) with increasing rates of COVID-19. This list is available here. This includes travel by train, bus, car, plane or any other method of transportation.  
 
Mask Guidelines

  • HVRSD requires all individuals who come on campus to wear a mask.
  • Neck gaiters and valve masks are not acceptable.
  • All students will receive a “HV” mask on their first in-person day or during material pick up 
  • Always carry another mask as a back-up.

HVRSD Notification Protocols
Notification of a confirmed or suspected case in your child’s school

  • Email sent to all families in that school notifying them of a confirmed or suspected case. Personal information of the suspected or confirmed case is private and will not be shared.

Possible exposure notification

  • If your child has been identified as having been in contact with a confirmed or suspected case, you will be contacted by the department of health. Contact is defined as: Within 6 feet for more than 10 minutes.
  • If you are identified as a contact through the department of health tracing process, you will be contacted directly by the department of health with further details. 

Building Based Protocols
Confirmed case in a school

  • Notification sent via email to all parents in impacted school
  • The impacted school will close for 2-5 days to complete deep cleaning and assist the department of health with contact tracing.
  • All extracurricular and cocurricular after school activities will stop during the closure.
  • All students will transition to remote learning during the closure.
  • Families will be given 24 hour notice for when in-school learning will resume 

 
Additional Health Information for Parents
 

  • Updated health procedures from our nurses - During the unprecedented time of COVID-19, the school district has updated our health practices and procedures in order to keep the health and safety of all students, families and staff in mind. Please review them here.
  • Students with symptoms in school - Any student who develops a fever (100.4 degrees F or higher) or COVID related symptoms during the school day will be excluded. They may not return until symptoms improve and 24 hours fever free without medication and have clearance from their doctor. See details here.
